night bus from hanoi to vientian, setting off at 8 to arrive at cau treo border at around 4:30. we had to wait until 7 for the border police to open

after immigration, continue to vientian. take a tuk tuk from the bus station to city center. stay in a cheap guesthouse near the bank of mekong river. dinner of barbecue by the river

13/9/2005
whole day exploring vientian by bicycle after the morning jog. evening cross border to thailand and take a night train to bangkok

 

14/9/2005 arrive in bangkok at 8 am. take metro to bus station and continue to pattaya. had a big seafood dinner with thai spices followed by thai massage. stay at a cheap hotel in soi 8

 

15/9/2005  early morning jogging along the pattaya beach. private car to go to cambodian border at poipet. immigration and bus to siemreap. road too bad, arrive siemreap at midnight. stay at a cheap hotel at road national number 6

 

16/9/2005 visited angkorwat, angkor thom, taprohm by bicyle

 

 

 

17/9/2005 am car pick up to pier on tonle sap for speed boat to phnompenh.

 

arrived phnompenh at noon. hire a motorbike to explore the city. check best disco in town - the spark 18/9/2005 visit killing field, tousleng museum 

 

 

19/9/2005 am speed boat on mekong river from phnompenh to chau doc in vietnam. arrive chau doc afternoon and bus to saigon. stay at home of a friend, mr. kien 20/9/2005
evening flight to hanoi after some visits in saigon
