Tam Dao hill station

Please see some photos of Tam Dao

Tam Dao is a hill station about 85 km to the Northwest of Hanoi, used to be developed by the French as a resort, having a cool weather all year round

The town is about 1200 meters above sea level and can be reached by a winding road uphill through pine tree forests and other green vegetation. Nowadays, Tam Dao is a major tourist destination for those looking for a short and relaxing escape close to the busy town of Hanoi; it is also a national park great for those naturalists looking for wild life like birds or butterflies.

Our party consisted of 6 guys, and we stayed at the Green World hotel (T: +84.211.824-315 F: +84.211.824-276, rate at VND 200.000 per room with TV, minibar, IDD, hot water & bathtub; room is clean) where we could have a great view of the town and the countryside below the mountain range in a distance.

This place should be a perfect weekend retreat. We were at a local restaurant for dinner when the cloud was moving in our table and we could smell the freshness of the mountain atmosphere. The only dancing hall in town is an open air floor surrounded by what is the leftover of an old stoned building looking like the walls of a French church; we were drinking beer under the rain formed by nightly heavy cloud, but it was real fun.

We did a short trek to see the Silver Water Fall
